Offered is an early pair of barn door strap hinges They were hand forged by a blacksmith sometime in the early 1800s era The metal has developed a very nice looking rusted and smooth patina from weathering and age They are in 100% solid and usable condition, I think they would last for several hundred more years! 2" wide, 1/4" thick and 29' long end to end one hinge is slightly shorter than the other approx. 1", I have had many sets of early strap hinges and this is typical as they were made by hand I do not have the pintels they would hinge on but common gate pintles work great They can be found in building or hardware stores in both bolt-on or screw type mounts with 3/4" pins that these hinges would use Building restoration supply centers also have early type nails that can be used to fasten these by clinching or bending the the back of the nails. (Rosehead or Square type nails would look great) These are authentic, very old and beautifully made hinges hopefully someone can put them to good use! Please ask for a calculation of the cost. I'll be glad to answer them! The item "Antique 1800s era 29 Barn Door Strap Hinges w Blacksmith Wrought Spade Ends" is in sale since Sunday, December 30, 2018.
